Year 3-4 Football
On Friday 24th March, a group of 20 children from Year 3 and 4 participated in a football tournament at Broadstone Middle School. We were lucky to take two teams to represent Springdale.
Each team played a round robin of games against a variety of different schools. Both teams played very well. This was the first time the Year 3 and 4 children played together and we were very impressed with their teamwork and cooperation. There were many goals scored, by many different players, which is a credit to the teams. The children passed the ball well and were good at finding space. Plus, lots of strong shots and rebounds. A super well done to the goal keepers, who had mud and puddles to dive around in.
Unfortunately, there was a heavy down pour with one game remaining, so the final games didn’t get played. But the children didn’t let this bother them! They all left the pitch smiling, cheering and a little bit soaked.
Thank you to all the parents that came to support the teams. I know the children appreciated the encouraging words and smiles from the side lines.
