Springdale gave a warm welcome to GB Gymnast, Kelly Simm, who came to help inspire our children. Kelly has been a member of the GB Team for the last 10 years. She won Gold at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games and Silver and Bronze at the 2015 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.

During the morning, Kelly led each class in a fast-paced circuit of physical exercise, getting the children to jump, do push-ups, and mountain climbers. There was lots of 'huffing and puffing' as the children got fully immersed in the atmosphere of the morning and created a wonderful buzz around the hall.

Afterwards, the children came together for an assembly where Kelly shared her experiences as a professional athlete. This linked in well with our PRIDE values, especially of DETERMINATION and PERSEVERANCE. Children were then given the opportunity to ask questions.

We hope that by having a professional athlete such as Kelly into our school will motivate children to become more physically active and inspire them to dream big and to follow those dreams.

Thank you to all the children for taking part and parents for assisting with the fundraising. This helps both Kelly and the school.
