Girls FA Football Festival

9th October 2017

On Thursday 5th October our PE Leader Mrs Blake took 9 girls from Year 4 to the County Ground in Hamworthy for an FA girls football festival. The girls took part in various activities including a referee workshop, goal keeper skills, penalty shootout, ball skills as well as getting their hair braided and faces painted! They took part in friendly five a side games against other local schools. It was fantastic to see the girls' enthusiasm to get involved in the 5 a side games. As the morning progressed they grew in confidence and their skills on the pitch certainly improved with some great defending and goal scoring. The morning finished with two lady footballers from Yeovil Town taking a question and answer session. The girls returned to school very tired and very hungry!!!

"Pupils thrive at the school, developing outstanding attitudes to learning due to the excellent relationships they form with adults and the very practical, interesting and challenging lesson activities provided. Their excellent behaviour is evident in all aspects of school life."
