Outdoor Classroom Day

12th October 2017

As part of Be Active/Be Outdoors week, children and teachers joined in with Outdoor Classroom Day.  Outdoor Classroom Day is a day celebrated by thousands of schools around the world to take lessons outside and inspire outdoor learning and play. The outdoor learning environment plays an important role in the curriculum, providing children with opportunities to experiment and explore; ask questions and make observations; solve problems and build theories. This was also a great opportunity for us (children and teachers) to have a think about how we would like to develop our amazing school grounds into an outdoor classroom that can be enjoyed all year round. We were lucky to be outside on this beautifully sunny autumn day. As you will see from the photos, creative juices were certainly flowing!

"Pupils thrive at the school, developing outstanding attitudes to learning due to the excellent relationships they form with adults and the very practical, interesting and challenging lesson activities provided. Their excellent behaviour is evident in all aspects of school life."
